MBC Institute: Survey of the Minor Prophets

This course provides a survey of the twelve Minor Prophets of the Old Testament—Hosea through Malachi—examining their historical setting, authorship, and theological message within the unfolding story of Scripture. Students will explore the time periods in which each prophet ministered, the historical circumstances facing Israel and Judah, and the key themes addressed in each book. Attention will be given to the purpose of each prophetic message, significant passages, and the central theological emphasis of each book. Through this study, students will gain a clearer understanding of how the Minor Prophets call God’s people to covenant faithfulness, repentance, justice, and hope in God’s future restoration. The course will also highlight the enduring relevance of these prophetic messages for understanding God’s character, His relationship with His people, and His redemptive purposes throughout Scripture.
